7 Athletes Exposed To COVID-19 Isolation At Mimika Hospital, Condition Is Quite Good
JAKARTA - A total of seven athletes from the four contingents are now undergoing treatment in the isolation room of the Mimika Hospital, Papua after being tested positive for COVID-19.
Mimika Hospital Director Dr Antonius Pasulu told Antara in Timika, Wednesday, that the seven athletes undergoing isolation treatment came from the contingents of DKI Jakarta, East Kalimantan and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
"As of this morning, we have treated seven people in the isolation room of Mimika Hospital. One basketball athlete from DKI Jakarta with mild symptoms, five judo athletes, namely three from DKI Jakarta and two from East Kalimantan. They were all asymptomatic. Then one the NTB contingent futsal athletes are asymptomatic," Antonius explained as quoted by Antara.
Overall, he said, the condition of the athletes undergoing isolation was quite good.
Health workers have traced or traced the close contacts of the athletes who were exposed to COVID-19 and all of them tested negative.
According to Antonius, the athletes who tested positive for COVID-19 were usually detected during a PCR examination for the purpose of flying back to their respective regions of origin.
Mimika Regency is one of the organizers of the XX Papua PON together with the City and Regency of Jayapura and Merauke Regency.
With the decline in new cases of COVID-19 in Mimika, since October 5, 2021 the status of PPKM in the region has been officially lowered from level 3 to level 2.
