How To Check Your Computer Is Compatible To Run Windows 11

YOGYAKARTA - To develop a more modern operating system, Miscrosof has created Windows 11 to replace the previous operating system, namely Windows 10 on computer devices that use the Windows operating system.

Computers that use modern CPUs will be able to run the Windows 11 operating system, while for older versions there are some computers that can run the operating system, but some are not compatible.

However, for computers that are not compatible with the official Windows 11 operating system, you can still use it but there will be bugs that may appear.

To know how to check if your computer is compatible or not, VOI team has prepared a way to check if your computer can run Windows 11 or not in this article.

Windows 11 was released on October 5, 2021. The latest version of the operating system from Microsoft has a strict system and officially can only be used for computers with modern CPUs.

Microsoft has prepared a tool that allows users to check if your computer can use Windows 11, namely "PC Health Check", which can check the computer and help users to run Windows 11.

However, if your computer is not supported to update to the latest version, you can still upgrade your computer to Windows 11. You can use PC Health Check and meet the required requirements by visiting the official Microsoft website.

How to Check a Compatible Computer Running Windows 11

You can download some required files, then open the file and accept all the requirements for installing. Next, check the "Open PC Health Check Windows" box, then click "Finish".

You'll see the Windows 11 section above the apps you've downloaded. Select the blue "Check Now" button.

If your computer is compatible, a new window will appear stating "This PC meets the requirements of Windows 11."

However, if your computer is not supported to use Windows 11 officially, a new window will appear saying that your PC does not currently meet the requirements to use the Windows 11 system.

In addition, PC Health Check will also tell users why your computer is not compatible to run the Windows 11 operating system.

For example, if the problem is that TPM 2.0 is not enabled, you can enable TPM from within your computer's UEFI firmware. If "Secure Boot" is not currently enabled, you can enable it.

If your computer is not officially compatible, you can still upgrade to Windows 11, but there will be some bugs, and Microsoft cannot guarantee that incompatible computers will continue to receive security updates.

However, Microsoft will not be upgrading all of its computers using Windows 11. They will continue to support Windows 10 with security updates until October 14, 2025.
