After Seeing Sharon Florencia, Erick Thohir Wants Leadership Regeneration In BUMN: 10 Percent Of Leaders Must Be Young Generation

JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir assesses that leadership regeneration in state-owned companies is very important in order to become a driver and maintain sustainability in SOEs.

"I really appreciate this program, as a manifestation of my commitment and the ranks in BUMN for the transformation of human capital. I hope this becomes a spirit of change of leadership, we have new leaders and more female leaders and young leaders who can be the drivers of change." and sustainability," said Erick in a written statement quoted from Antara, Wednesday, October 6.

According to Erick, a good leader is one who performs well, can maintain the trust, and has a commitment to leadership sustainability.

Erick on various occasions always shows his support for the leadership of women and youth groups and makes women's leadership a part of the transformation of SOE human resources to realize leadership equality in SOEs.

"I am very concerned about the transformation of human capital, therefore, from the beginning in encouraging this transformation at the Ministry of SOEs, we changed the structure, leadership, mindset, and also our core values. I really hope that the human capital program will be the key to change. We have set a target of increasing representation in the ranks of SOE leadership by at least 15 percent this year and 25 percent in 2023 for women leaders and at least 5 percent this year and 10 percent in 2023 for leaders from the next generation young," he said.

As a form of support for the equality of women and children in the world of work, the Minister of SOEs and the five President Directors of SOEs, namely the President Director of BRI, the President Director of Mandiri, the President Director of Angkasa Pura I, the President Director of Kimia Farma, and the President Director of Telkomsel participated in the Girls program. Takeover (GTO) 2021 which was jointly held by the Indonesian Human Capital Forum (FHCI), Srikandi BUMN and the Plan Indonesia Foundation.

The program provides an opportunity for six girls who were selected from more than 7,000 candidates to become ministers or directors of state-owned enterprises for one day to commemorate World Girls' Day which falls on October 11.

For three days with limited time available, Erick Thohir was really serious in accompanying Sharon Florencia and the other finalists so that these future leadership candidates could get the essence of leadership, and be better prepared to lead. The same commitment was given by the Deputy Ministers and echelon 1 ranks at the Ministry of SOEs.
