Advance From Next Level, Aespa Marks Comeback With Savage

JAKARTA - K-pop group aespa is back with their first mini album titled Savage today, October 5. This album is the latest work after releasing Next Level last May.

Savage is a trap song with a mix of drums and bass. The lyrics still tell the aespa world where ae, their avatar helps naevis to get out of KWANGYA and face the Black Mamba.

The song Savage was composed and written by Kirsten Collins, Jia Lih, Yoo Young Jin, and Hautboi Rich. Savage also sharpens the vocal quality of the four aespa members: Karina, Winter, Ningning, and Giselle. It was heard that they performed high notes throughout the song, not forgetting the bridge section which was filled with the harmonization of Winter and Ningning.

“We tried to present the point of view and the SMCU (SM Culture Universe) in various ways through animation, avatars, graphics. To express the world's point of view intensely, we use the metaverse genre," Karina said as quoted by SportsChosun.

This release also coincides with good news. The mini album Savage received a pre-order total of 400 thousand copies before today.

"I was very surprised and happy to receive such a great response even though we were rookies who hadn't debuted that long," Winter said.

The mini album Savage contains six new tracks: Savage, Aenergy, I'll Make You Cry, Yeppi Yeppi, Iconic, and Lucid Dream.

“This is our first album after 'Black Mamba'. We can show fans different sides of us through dance, pop, including Savage," said Winter.
