Ronaldo Mourns, His Friend Dies

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo lost a friend. The Portuguese star posted the sad news on social media last night before Instagram went down.

Soraia, wife of footballer Jose Semedo, lost her life and Cristiano was devastated by her passing. The Manchester United striker has been close friends with the Vitoria Setubal player for a long time.

Expressing his deep sense of loss, Ronaldo posted a photo of himself and Georgina Rodriguez at dinner with Soraia and Semedo.

"Last week, unexpectedly, an extraordinary human being left us, our dear Soraia, a wonderful mother and wife of one of the best friends who have been given to me," Ronaldo wrote.

"Nothing can erase the pain felt by my brother Jose Semedo and his entire family. But we are together, today, as usual, facing this hardship. Rest in peace, my friend. We will never forget you."
