Gowa Regent Adnan Purichita Ichsan Yasin Limpo Promises Bonuses For Papuan PON Medal-Winning Athletes
GOWA - The Regent of Gowa, South Sulawesi, Adnan Purichta Ichsan Yasin Limpo promised to give bonuses for athletes who won medals at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON).
"I am on behalf of the Gowa Government providing support to athletes, and for those who won, especially Gowa athletes, we have prepared separate bonuses for these athletes," said Adnan when releasing athletes from South Sulawesi Province from the combat sport branch in the hall of the Gowa District Attorney's office. , South Sulawesi, quoted by Antara, Monday, October 4.
The event for the release of the athletes was carried out together with the Head of Tarung Derajat South Sulawesi Darmawangsa Muin and the Head of the Gowa District Attorney as the coach of Tarung Derajat Gowa Yeni Andriani.
Adnan Purrichta said the promised bonus was a form of support and motivation from the Gowa Regency Government to athletes, especially those from Gowa Regency.
The Regent of Gowa said that the release of the South Sulawesi fighting sports athletes was also carried out in Gowa Regency, not without reason. The area was chosen so that later the athletes who competed in the XX Papua PON can be braver like the character of the hero Sultan Hasanuddin from Gowa Regency.
"So, this fighting degree was released in Gowa, they are South Sulawesi athletes but released in Gowa so that the spirit of Sultan Hasanuddin burns in the soul of the athlete, who is known for his courage, so it is hoped that the soul of this athlete will follow the courage of Sultan Hasanuddin," said Adnan.
Gowa Regent Adnan also did not forget to encourage the athletes to always compete with sportsmanship values, and always keep the face of South Sulawesi, especially Gowa Regency.
"Hopefully you can make South Sulawesi proud, especially Gowa Regency, by winning gold at the XX Papua PON," hoped Adnan.
Meanwhile, Head of Tarung Derajat South Sulawesi, Darmawangsa Muin, said there were 12 athletes who would compete in six classes. The athletes were targeted for two gold from the six classes.
"We are releasing 12 athletes, and of course every sport gives appreciation to its athletes, so we will also definitely give it so that we are more enthusiastic about winning gold medals, as we are targeting, namely two gold," said Adnan.
One of the fighting athletes from Gowa Regency, Yuyun Yuliani (23 years old) admitted that she would give her best and hoped to win medals in the two classes she participated in, namely the women's 3rd class and the mixed class (2 girls and 2 boys).
He also admitted that he had won medals in the Popnas and Pre-Pon events, so that it was hoped that he could make South Sulawesi proud, especially Gowa Regency.
