Make Sure You Are Ready And Not Too Late To Face The New Variant Of COVID-19, The Government Carries Out Strict Monitoring
JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said the government continues to carry out surveillance to monitor new variants of COVID-19, starting from the Mu, Lambda, to Delta variants. This is done to prevent the spread in the country.
"On the surveillance side, we also continue to monitor the existence of new variants, both the Mu and Lambda variants, including the Delta mutation variant that exists in Indonesia and has indeed occurred throughout the world," Budi said in a press conference broadcast online on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, October 4th.
The monitoring, he continued, was carried out strictly. So that when the variant enters Indonesia, the government is ready and has anticipated it.
"We monitor it closely to make sure we are ready and it is not too late if there are new mutations entering Indonesia," said Minister of Health Budi.
He also ensured that the government would continue to guard Indonesia's borders in order to prevent the transmission of new variants.
In addition to carrying out strict monitoring, the government also continues to strengthen COVID-19 vaccinations for the community.
The Minister of Health said that Indonesia had received 222 million doses of vaccine, of which 193 million had been sent to various regions. Of these, 143 million vaccines have also been injected into the community.
"So the total stock we have is still around 70 million, which is still quite a lot and now we continue to talk about how to accelerate this vaccination," said Minister of Health Budi.
