DENPASAR - Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bali Province, Dewa Made Indra, explained that the Bali Provincial Government issued a policy of discounting motor vehicle taxes.
He said, Governor of Bali Wayan Koster issued Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 46 of 2021 concerning exemption of tax principals and the abolition of administrative sanctions in the form of interest and fines on motor vehicle taxes and duties on motorized vehicles.
"Once again, providing opportunities for the public, especially motorized vehicle taxpayers, through a strategic policy in the form of extending the implementation of the second period tax discount which will be implemented from October 4 (until) December 17, 2021," said Indra, in Denpasar, Bali, Monday, October 4.
The tax discount is given to taxpayers (WP) who are tax arrears, where taxpayers only need to pay 2 years of tax. Meanwhile, tax arrears for the third year and so on are exempted.
"The policy is only valid for two months," he added.
Indra also explained that this policy was simultaneously implemented together with two policies that had been implemented previously, namely, the free BBNKB II policy or transfer of name from September 4 to December 17, 2021. Free BBNKB II is given to taxpayers who will carry out the transfer process, local mutation and mutation from outside Bali.
Furthermore, the whitening policy starts from June 8 to December 17, 2021. Bleaching is an exemption from interest and fines for the payment of PKB and BBNKB II.
According to him, the policy aims to fix the vehicle database, provide space and opportunity for taxpayers who are in arrears of 3 years and over to complete their tax obligations or clear taxes as well as a form of partisanship and presence of the government in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The taxpayer community is expected to be able to take advantage of this policy as well as possible through Samsat services spread across all regencies and cities in Bali," said Indra.
