New Aceh Student COVID Vaccination Hits 3,000 From The Target Of 9,000 People
ACEH - Thousands of junior high school (SMP) students in Banda Aceh City have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Head of the Banda Aceh Education and Culture Agency (Disdikbud) Sulaiman Bakri said the current vaccination achievement was around 30 percent of the total junior high school students of around 9,000 people.
"Approximately 2,500 to 3,000 have been vaccinated, including those who vaccinate independently," said Sulaiman Bakri in Banda Aceh, Antara, Monday, October 4.
Sulaiman said that the student vaccination is still ongoing even though the first deadline is 30 September 2021. In principle, there is no time limit for the vaccination process.
Therefore, Sulaiman appealed to vaccinate to increase the immunity of students. "We urge (vaccination) because this is for our children, so they can avoid the risk of transmitting COVID-19," he said.
Sulaiman said that during the student vaccination process in Banda Aceh there were no serious problems found in the field, all stages of the activity went well.
"Alhamdulillah, we have not had any serious problems in the vaccination process in Banda Aceh so far," said Sulaiman.
While conducting a review of Banda Aceh's student vaccinations some time ago, Head of the Aceh Education Office, Alhudri, asked teachers and school principals to work hard to convince their students to get vaccinated.
According to Alhudri, only in this way can face-to-face learning be held again in the future.
"We really miss students meeting the school environment, learning directly and of course being more effective," he said.
