Pointing A Pistol To Police, Fugitive Motorcycle Thief In Malang Shot
MALANG - The Malang City Police Satreskrim Team, East Java arrested a motorcycle thief syndicate (curanmor). One perpetrator was shot for pointing the police with an airsoft gun.
Malang Police Chief AKBP Budi Hermanto said the two fugitives had been wanted since September 9 after their actions on Jalan Kerto Raharjo Ketawanggede, Lowokwaru, Malang City. The two are MB (41) a resident of Jember Regency and ZA (20) a resident of Lumajang Regency.
After an investigation was carried out, the two were followed until they were found to have acted in Ketawang Gede. The police also attempted to arrest them when they were about to escape across Jalan Raya Singosari.
“Our members managed to grab one of the perpetrators until he finally fell. But when he was about to be arrested, one of the perpetrators pointed a gun,” said the Malang Police Chief, who is familiarly called Buher, Monday, October 4.
The police immediately took decisive action by shooting the thief in the leg. From the arrests, airsoft guns and buckshot bullets were confiscated.
The suspect told the police he had a gun just in case. "Just to scare you if you get caught," said MA, one of the perpetrators of the theft.
The two perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code and Article 1 paragraph 1 of the Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951.
