PAPUA - Kodim 1702/Jayawijaya personnel and street children in this district worked together to clean the Hero's Cemetery (TMP), Monday, October 4.
The commander of Kodim 1702/Jayawijaya, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Arif Budi Situmeang, said that the street children involved came from several street children communities located in the city center and at Jibama Market.
"The children we took with us were 82 people, including the coaches," he said in Wamena, Papua, as reported by Antara.
He said that they have fostered the kanjal or community of street children for various skill improvement activities.

"Indeed, these are the children we have taken from the Kodim bina for a long time. I am here as the commander of the Kodim. I hope that after having sufficient skills, he will be able to find work independently," he said.
He said another positive activity that was carried out and involved street children was a revival service.
"For what we do on a daily basis, with religious leaders we also often invite them to KKR, even with Jayawijaya youth leaders we also convey to foster them," he said.
He hopes that with positive activities together, street children can avoid negative influences.
"As much as possible we minimize activities that are not good, we divert attention, we fill it with positive things like this," he said.
