Where Do The Labor Party's Operations Come From? Don't Be Surprised To Hear Said Iqbal's Explanation

JAKARTA - The President of the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPI) Said Iqbal admitted that he received many questions about who financed his group to re-establish the Labor Party.

Iqbal emphasized that the Labor Party, which will be declared tomorrow, gets its source of funds from contributions from members of labor unions and other workers' groups. Just like the workers organization system so far.

"We want to emphasize that the Labor Party designed by trade unions, farmers' unions, teachers' organizations, the Indonesian women's movement and several other social movements are accustomed to financing organizations independently, democratically, independently and openly. We usually finance organizations from member fees," Iqbal said at the conference. virtual press, Sunday, October 3.

Iqbal said membership fees are justified by the constitution, both at the national and international levels.

He gave an example, the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Union (FSPMI) has been collecting contributions for its members for 25 years. Currently, the fee reaches around IDR 2.5 billion per month.

"The membership fees from all over Indonesia are reported in the form of public accountants. Every year there is an audit by a public accountant," said Iqbal.

Thus, Iqbal decided to take the labor group membership fee of Rp. 50,000 per month to run the Labor Party. According to him, this is not difficult for the members, because it has been approved by each representative of the federation.
