JAKARTA - The Joint SAR Team expanded the area to the Marunda East Flood Canal (KBT) in North Jakarta to search for Andrian Maulana, a 13-year-old boy who was swept away in a sewer in Makasar Village, North Jakarta.
"So far, we have navigated the location points up to Marunda," said Head of Team (Katim) Two Basarnas Jakarta, Fajar Laksana Ginting to reporters at KBT Cipinang Besar area, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Saturday, October 2.
Officers had previously conducted a sweep of the incident site around the KBT in the Cipinang Besar area, but had not yet been found. Finally, the search area was expanded.
Initially, Fajar said, on the second day of the search, his party targeted the KBT Malaka Sari Sluice Gate, Duren Sawit and Ujung Menteng KBT Sluice Gate, Cakung. However, now it is extended to KBT Marunda.
"Because we still haven't found any signs of (victims), so that with increasing days the search must be expanded, why expand? Because one, the day has passed, the second, the position must expand the operation," he explained.
Fajar also conveyed to the community around KBT to report to the relevant parties if they found Andrian who had been swept away and had been missing since Thursday 30 September night.
"Until now there have been no signs of victims, but so far we have expanded the information network to the public, both on the banks of the KBT to Marunda," he said.
