Jokowi Shows Off His Football Agility With 3 Athletes On The Stage Of XX Papua PON

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo showed off the action of playing football with three athletes when opening the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura, Papua, Saturday, October 2.

This action started when Jack Komboy, one of the legendary Papuan football players, was present in the middle of the stage with a number of his friends while playing ball. At that time, Jokowi was still seen sitting relaxed enjoying the show.

However, in the middle of the event, one of the performers suddenly asked Jokowi to come on stage and play football with Jack Komboy.

"Mr President, come here with us," said the child who filled the event while waving at Jokowi.

Jokowi then stood up and jogged towards the center of the stage. On stage, Jack Komboy immediately passed the ball towards Jokowi and was well received by the former Governor of DKI Jakarta. It is seen that Jokowi enjoys playing football and seems fluent in playing the ball.

Not long after, another performer brought the XX PON torch before President Jokowi. Then, the President was given a typical Papuan musical instrument, namely Tifa. When holding Tifa, Jokowi immediately played by banging the head of the instrument.

After that, Jokowi returned to his seat. Even though he looks tired, Jokowi is still happy.

Previously, President Jokowi had opened this event. In his speech, he admitted that he was proud to be able to open the sporting event which was held for the first time in Papua. Jokowi said the XX Papua PON is also a picture of progress on the Earth of Cenderawasih.

"This Sports Week illustrates the progress of Papua, showing the infrastructure readiness of the Papuan people in organizing big events to excel in the national and international arena," said the former Governor of DKI Jakarta as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.

In addition, the implementation of this PON also has great meaning for all people in the country. The reason is that this event has become a stage of unity, togetherness, and even a stage of justice for mutual progress within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

In the event, a row of ministers from the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet appeared to be present, such as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto, Minister of Investment Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Menpora Zainudin Amali, Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuldjono and other ministers.

There is also the chairman of the DPR, Puan Maharani, the chairman of the MPR, Bambang Soesatyo, the governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, and other state officials.
