Neno Warisman's Turn To Leave The Ummah Party After Agung Mozin

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Ummat Party Syuro Council, Neno Warisman, has submitted his resignation from the party founded by political figure Amien Rais.

This news was confirmed by the Syuro Secretary of the Ummat Party, Ansufri Idrus Sambo. According to him, Neno resigned because he did not focus on managing the party due to taking care of his son who was in Turkey.

"That's right, yes (Neno Warisman resigned, ed). Yesterday he sent WhatsApp to us and sent a letter back because he wanted to focus on taking care of his child in Turkey. Because he couldn't be active, he was worried that he couldn't be active (while, ed) focusing on taking care of his child, so he resigned, " Sambo told reporters on Saturday, October 2.

He explained that the letter was also addressed to the Chairman of the Ummat Party Syuro Council, Amien Rais. After that, his party will hold a decision meeting to discuss Neno's resignation.

However, since Neno's resignation letter was submitted, the Ummat Party has not held a meeting.

"He addressed Mr. Amien's letter. We haven't had a meeting on that yet," said Sambo.

"We have a mechanism if people leave, we can't prohibit it. There is only a mechanism, there will be a Shura Council meeting, the decision will be in the Syuro Council," he said.

Although Neno resigned, Sambo said this would not affect the Ummat Party in preparing itself for the upcoming 2024 General Election.

Previously, the Deputy Chairperson of the Great Ummah Party, Mozin, had already resigned. In his resignation letter, he said his decision was due to internal dynamics, information barriers, and elitist communication that did not prioritize morality.

The letter was addressed to the Chairman of the Syuro Council of the Ummat Party, Amien Rais.
