Donald Trump Attacks Joe Biden: Religion Will Disappear If He Is Elected

JAKARTA - United States President Donald Trump has again attacked Joe Biden, his rival in the presidential election. Trump to say that if Biden is elected, religion will be lost. Trump's attack came after weekend polls showed voter disappointment with Trump especially in his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

In an interview quoted by the South China Morning Post, Trump said his rival Biden was incompetent to lead the US. "I said he was incompetent to be president," Trump said.

Trump's reason for calling this was because he considered Biden's role to be insignificant in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, he repeatedly questioned Biden's mental acuity.

Meanwhile Trump also said Democrats wanted to "strip the police" and insisted that this was in Biden's policy documents. But Trump was reluctant to show these documents.

Apart from highlighting policy issues, Trump also brought up religious issues in his attacks. He said religion would disappear if Biden came to power. It refers to Democratic officials banning large church services to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.

The public doubts Trump

Trump's attacks came after poll results last week showed public doubts in Trump's leadership, especially over the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. In contrast, support for Trump's competitor Biden has increased.

The poll conducted by Fox shows Biden has a substantial advantage over Trump. Not only about managing the pandemic, but also in overcoming racial unrest and even handling the economy.

Likewise, a Washington Post-ABC News poll on the level of public support also showed Biden is leading Trump nationally by 15 points. Responding to the survey results, Trump said that such polls were fake. Instead, he referred to the results of a White House survey which showed he won nationally.

As is well known, currently the Donald Trump administration is facing many problems. Starting from the skyrocketing number of COVID-19 cases, racial unrest and economic problems.
