JCI Closed Monday, Weakening 0.56 Percent To 5,051.11 Levels

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed lower on Monday, July 20 trading. JCI closed down 0.56 percent or 28.48 points to the level of 5,051.11.

Closing the trade, 132 stocks rose, 299 stocks fell, and 148 stocks remained unchanged. The trading volume was recorded at 9.12 billion shares and was transacted at IDR 6.48 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama said, JCI weakened due to the lack of domestic and global macroeconomic data that had a high positive impact on the market.

"Japan's trade balance of 268.8 billion yen as of June is also not a positive catalyst. Meanwhile, the EU Economic Summit is still ongoing. The market is still waiting on whether this summit will produce a comprehensive agreement or vice versa," Nafan told VOI.

This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Cisadane Sawit Raya Tbk (CSRA) which rose 24.37 percent to Rp296, PT Ginting Jaya Energi Tbk (WOWS) which rose 15.62 percent to Rp111, and PT Eagle High Plantation which strengthened 14.71 percent to Rp117.

Meanwhile, stocks that were among the top losers included PT Envy Technologies Tbk (ENVY) which fell 6.03 percent to IDR109, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN) which fell 4.98 percent to IDR1,240. , and PT Bumi Serpong Damai Tbk (BSDE), which fell 4.03 percent to Rp715.
