Hundreds Of Medical Workers Alerted At The Opening Ceremony Of PON Papua
JAKARTA - Hundreds of medical personnel will be on duty during the opening ceremony of the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura Regency, today or Saturday.
They will be scattered at every point of the opening arena, starting from the entrance, verification place, to inside the stadium.
In addition, in the stadium area, there is also a PON XX Clinic as a temporary treatment place if something happens during the biggest sporting event in Indonesia.
"Especially for the opening, around 100 medical personnel will be on duty inside and outside the stadium", said the person in charge of the health of the XX Clinic at the Lukas Enembe Stadium Sports Complex, dr. Rindang Pribadi, to Antara, Saturday.
"During the opening of PON Papua, at the clinic, there will also be 24 medical officers including surgeons and emergency specialists", Rindang added.
As another anticipatory measure, during the implementation of the Papua PON, continued Rindang, the Ministry of Health has sent assistance by presenting sports and heart medicine.
Then during the opening, other facilities will also be available, such as two mini ICU cars, five ambulances for evacuation, and two referral ambulances.

"Regardless of any situation, we as health workers must remain on stand by. Hopefully, all Papua PON activities will go well and no unwanted things will happen", said Rindang.
PON Papua will be officially opened today by President Joko Widodo. Strict health protocols will be enforced.
The Great Committee of PON Papua also limited the number of spectators who attended, namely 25 percent of the capacity of the Lukas Enembe Stadium as many as 40,000 spectators.
