Not Accepting Appointed Men, Gorontalo Governor Asks President Jokowi To Evaluate Social Affairs Minister Risma: I'm Very Offended!
JAKARTA - Circulating in cyberspace a video recording of the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini was angry at a meeting by pointing at a person's chest. Later, Risma took the action while attending a meeting with officials in Gorontalo on Thursday, September 30.
It is suspected that Risma's emotions peaked because a local social assistance official was judged to be incompetent in aligning the data on social assistance recipients with data held by the central government.
"It's not us who crossed out. These data often become slanderous, it's me who gets hit, you know or not," said Social Minister Risma when expressing her anger.
Suddenly the atmosphere became silent for a moment when the voice of the former mayor of Surabaya boomed throughout the room.
"I have never crossed out (data on social assistance recipients), in fact we have added all regions," continued Risma.
Regarding this incident, the Governor of Gorontalo, Rusli Habibie, also spoke up. Coincidentally, Rusli was not present at the time because he was accompanying Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto on a working visit to Boalemo Regency.
In his statement, Rusli said that the figure appointed by Risma was a low-level employee in the Gorontalo province. This is explained by Rusli through the following statement.
"Appointing a PKH employee (Recipient of Family Hope) is a low-level employee who they only expect some (income) every month," he said.
Furthermore, the number one person in Gorontalo also deeply regrets the attitude shown by Risma in public. The reason is that the attributes that Risma carries as a high state official should be more appropriate and become an example to her subordinates.
"Frankly, as governor, I deeply regret the attitude of a minister who is not worthy of being shown to the people. This is very inappropriate for a mother who is the Minister of Social Affairs. I saw the video offended," he said.
Rusli even asked President Joko Widodo as Risma's direct supervisor to evaluate the workings of his subordinates.
“I ask the President to evaluate so that it doesn't happen again. I am afraid that there will be resistance from the community,” said Rusli.
