Bintan Regency Government Holds Limited PTM October 12, Number Of Students In Class 50 Percent
JAKARTA - The government of Bintan Regency, Riau Archipelago has just started to hold face-to-face learning (PTM) for Elementary-Junior High School on October 12.
The head of the Bintan Education Office, Thamsir, in Bintan, Saturday, said PTM could not be held on Monday the day after tomorrow because several Class II junior high school students took national assessments or exams.
"The school has prepared limited PTM according to health protocols", Thamsir said as quoted by Antara.
He said the restrictions on the PTM system such as the number of students in the class are only 50 percent, and the length of study for PAUD students in school is a maximum of 1.5 hours a day, Elementary 2 hours, and Junior High School 3 hours.
He gave an example, one class that has 30 students, only 15 people are allowed to take part in face-to-face learning in that class. The school must be able to regulate it so that all students can be accommodated to follow the face-to-face learning system.
During the learning process, there is no rest time. The policy was made to prevent crowds of students.
"Break hours are abolished to prevent the transmission of COVID-19", he said.
If the active cases of COVID-19 are decreasing, the capacity of students in the classroom can be increased as needed. On the other hand, online learning is carried out again if there is a transmission of COVID-19 in the classroom or school.
"All schools from the beginning have prepared equipment so that students and teachers implement health protocols when face-to-face learning begins", he said.
The online learning system has been implemented in Bintan since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, March 2020 until now. However, Bintan Education Authorities also treats the tutoring system in schools, especially for students who do not have cell phones to study, and who need to gain additional knowledge.

The number of kindergarten teachers in Bintan is 160 people.
