Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Proposed To Be A Candidate For Chairman Of The Regional Committee Of The Indonesian City Government Association

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution has been proposed to be a candidate for Chairman of the Regional Commissariat (Komwil) I of the Association of Indonesian City Governments (Apeksi). The Mayor of Medan is considered to meet all the requirements to become chairman.

This was known when the Pemko Medan received a visit from the Pemko Pekanbaru related to the implementation of the Apeksi Muskomwil I which will be held in Banda Aceh City, Friday, October 1.

The Pekanbaru City Government delegation led by the Pekanbaru Regional Secretary, M. Jamil was welcomed by the Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution, represented by the Medan City Secretary, Wiriya Alrahman.

Wiriya Alrahman said that currently Medan City has been at level 3 since a few weeks ago. With the decrease in the level in Medan City, several economic activities in Medan City have also been allowed to operate.

"Economic activities in Medan City, such as restaurants, are allowed to open until 9 p.m. WIT while still implementing strict health protocols," said Wiriya, quoted from a statement from the Medan City Government Kominfo Service, Friday, October 1.

The Regional Secretary also explained that the people of Medan City consist of various multi-ethnic groups. Therefore, to increase the value of culture and love of culture, Bobby Nasution has issued a Decree of the Mayor of Medan concerning Official Clothing and Attributes of Regional Typical Service Clothing in the Medan City Government. Where the use of typical regional daily official clothes is used by ASN and Government Employees with Work Agreements (P3K) who are on duty at the office every Friday.

"The city of Medan consists of multi-ethnic people, both native to North Sumatra and migrants. Therefore, under the leadership of the Mayor of Medan, the Medan City Government has made this policy so that we can love the existing customs and traditions and must continue to develop it," he explained.

Meanwhile, regarding the suggestion of the Mayor of Medan to become a candidate for the Head of Komwil I Apeksi, the Regional Secretary revealed that this had previously been discussed with the Mayor of Medan.

"God willing, the Mayor is ready," he said.

Previously, Pekanbaru City Secretary, M. Jamil said that this visit was related to the implementation of the Apeksi Muskomwil I which will be held in Banda Aceh City. The Muskomwil will schedule the election of the chairman.

"We are waiting for the willingness of the Mayor of Medan to become a candidate for chairman," said Jamil.
