Papuans Are Enthusiastic To Watch The XX PON Futsal Semifinals Via Videotron
JAKARTA - Dozens of people enthusiastically watched the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) match for men's futsal between the hosts Papua and East Java via videotron installed around the Graha Eme Neme Yauware area, Mimika, Papua, Friday.
Seen dozens of motorcyclists pulled over on the shoulder of the road to watch the semifinal match which was broadcast through the videotron screen.
The frenetic atmosphere was heard when the Papuan futsal team attacked the heart of the opponent's defense. The excitement broke out when the home team managed to score the ball into the East Java team's goal.
Rikardo, one of the residents who witnessed the match said he was happy to see his champion team competing even though it was only through videotron shows.
"It's good to see it here because the stadium is already crowded, it's nice here," he said as quoted by Antara.
Yohannes also conveyed the same thing. He deliberately pulled his vehicle over to witness the struggle of the Papuan futsal team to penetrate the final round.
In addition to watching from videotron, a number of residents also seemed to enjoy the game through live streaming shows that were played on smart phones.
The Papuan men's futsal team managed to make it to the finals after crushing the East Java resistance with a landslide score of 5-1.
The hosts' goals were scored by Pieter Marchelino Ireeuw and Rivaldo C. Rawar with two goals each, and Muhammad Najib with one goal. Meanwhile, East Java's single goal was contributed by Andhika Agrapana.
In the final, Papua will face the winner between West Java and West Nusa Tenggara. The final match is scheduled to be held at GOR SP2 Mimika on Sunday (3/10).
