Having The Largest Assets In Indonesia, BRI Forms A Cyber Security Organization

JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk. (BRI) is known to have formed a special organization in the field of Cyber Security to handle Information Security headed by a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

Director of Digital and Information Technology BRI Indra Utoyo revealed that the security of customer personal data is a very important aspect for the company. This is because this is a trust entrusted by customers to BRI.

"Trust and integrity in the security of personal data are important aspects that are our focus," he said in a press statement released on the official website on Friday, October 1.

Indra added, in the era of digitalization and the rapid development of information technology, it is non-negotiable.

"To support this, BRI has carried out various strengthening for the security of customers' personal data," he continued.

In addition, Indra said that BRI also provides education to employees and customers regarding securing customer banking data and how to conduct secure transactions.

"The education is carried out through various media, including through the company's official social media on Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, and print media, as well as education to customers when customers come to our work units," he explained.

For information, BRI currently has international standard information security governance that refers to the NIST cyber security framework, PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and regulatory policy POJK No.38/POJK.03/2016 concerning the Implementation of Risk Management in Use of Information Technology by Commercial Banks.

To ensure that the information security process is running according to international standards, BRI has carried out several certifications, including ISO27001:2013 Big Data Analytics, ISO27001:2013 Spacecraft Operation, and ISO27001:2013 OPEN API.
