Ruspandi, who is the victim's sister-in-law, said the incident occurred at around 16.00 WIB. At that time, his brother-in-law had just returned from his garden and intended to clean himself in the Sepihan River. The victim was just about to soak his feet in the river when suddenly his legs were attacked by a crocodile. Spontaneously, the victim immediately hit the crocodile's mouth with his hand, until finally the crocodile's bite was released on the victim's leg. The wild animal did not give up. The crocodile with a length of about 1.5 meters pounced again so that it hit the victim's right wrist. The victim fought back until the crocodile finally released its bite. The crocodile then entered the river and the victim rushed up. As a result of the crocodile's attack, the victim suffered a torn left leg that was nearly 20 cm long. In addition, there was a crocodile bite wound on the victim's right wrist. According to Ruspandi, some time ago residents had seen several crocodiles in the Sapihan River. It is estimated that there are about four tails with varying sizes until the largest is estimated to be 2.5 meters long.

So far, residents' livestock have often been lost, allegedly being eaten by crocodiles. However, this is the first time there has been an incident of crocodiles attacking humans, so this makes residents more nervous and afraid. the Central Kalimantan Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) Pos Sampit. Residents hope that the BKSDA can immediately catch the crocodiles so that they no longer threaten the safety of the residents. Meanwhile, the Commander of the Central Kalimantan BKSDA Guard Pos Sampit Muriansyah confirmed that his party had received reports from residents regarding the incident. His party will return to the location where the crocodile attack occurred. Previously, his party had descended to the Sepihan River area when a viral sighting of a large crocodile entered the residents' gardens. At that time the BKSDA team even set up fishing lines to catch crocodiles, but after a few days it still didn't produce any results. "We will try to catch them. We also urge the public to increase vigilance when doing activities in the river, especially when it is dark because it is very vulnerable to crocodile attacks," said Muriansyah.
