Following In The Footsteps Of Other Chinese Giants, Honor Has A Roll-screen Phone
JAKARTA - Honor seems to have ambitious plans to launch its newest smartphone. A recent report points to a patent for a new foldable phone that the company claims.
A new patent from Honor reveals that the company may be working on a rollable smartphone with a wrap-around screen.
The image shared with the patent application shows a phone with a large screen that covers the entire front and back. Interestingly, no front-facing camera (selfie) is visible from the device.
Meanwhile, on the back, there is a small vertical frame where the parts of the display come together and from which the screen scrolls towards the front. By carrying a rollable screen, the power button has been moved to the top of the phone.
The vertical bezel on the back panel features a quad-camera setup with LED flash. The system seems to be inspired by Huawei's Mate X foldable smartphone.
When the patent screen is fully unlocked, the phone will have a tablet-sized screen and will likely measure around 11 inches. This is similar to the Huawei Mate rollable smartphone design that was announced a few weeks ago.
However, before launching a smartphone with a foldable camera, the company plans to launch a foldable smartphone.
Because, Honor has registered the model names Honor Magic Flip and Honor Magic Fold. Honor CEO George Zhao hs claims that when the company launches a foldable smartphone, it will be the best in the market.
Honor's plans seem to follow in the footsteps of other Chinese mobile giants such as OPPO, which also revealed the OPPO X 2021 Rollable Concept Smartphone. Equipped with an OLED panel that can be rolled up, allowing the screen to have a length from 6.7 inches to 7.4 inches.
