KPK Examines Regent Abdul Wahid Regarding Allegations Of Corruption In The Procurement Of Goods And Services

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have again questioned the Regent of Hulu Sungai Utara (HSU) Abdul Wahid regarding allegations of corruption in the procurement of goods and services within his government.

He was examined as a witness to complete the file belonging to the suspect, Maliki, who is the Acting Head of Public Works who is also a Commitment Making Officer (PPK) and KPA at the PUPRT Office of North Hulu Sungai Regency, South Kalimantan.

"Today the summons of witnesses related to the procurement of goods and services in North Hulu Sungai Regency, South Kalimantan, in 2021-2022 for the suspect MRH," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri to reporters, Friday, October 1.

The material for the examination of Wahid is not yet known. However, he was previously questioned regarding this alleged corruption on Friday, September 24 yesterday.

In addition, the anti-corruption commission has also searched five places including the North Hulu Sungai Regent's Office and the homes of related parties located in Kota Raja Village, South Amuntai District, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency.

From the search, KPK investigators have found evidence in the form of documents, electronic goods, and cash.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) appointed the Acting Head of Public Works Department who is also a Commitment Making Officer (PPK) and KPA at the North Hulu Sungai Regency PUPRT Office, South Kalimantan, Maliki as a suspect. The decision was made after he was caught in a sting operation (OTT).

Apart from Maliki, the KPK has also named two people from the private sector, namely the Director of CV Hanamas, Marhaini and the Director of CV Kalpataru, Fachriadi as suspects.

In a silent operation that was held on Wednesday, September 15, the KPK found Rp345 million in cash. The money is suspected to be a commitment fee of 15 percent for the project to be carried out by the two private parties.

The first project is the Rehabilitation of the DIR Kayakah Irrigation Network, Kayakah Village, with an estimated price of IDR 1.9 billion. While the second project is the Irrigation Network Rehabilitation of the Banjang DIR, Karias Dalam Village.
