According to Gotta Have Rock And Roll, the car was sold to close friend Eddie Van Halen, who is the current owner.
Meanwhile, outside of the Ferrari car auction, there are a lot of rumors regarding Eddie Van Halen's health. TMZ reported last fall that Eddie Van Halen had received treatment in the US and Germany in recent years.
Last October, the guitarist who has Indonesian ancestry stopped by a McLaren dealer in Beverly Hills and mingled with the sales team, taking photos and even giving a fan a kiss. But a few days later, she was photographed in a spine surgeon's office in Beverly Hills.
Representatives for Van Halen did not comment on TMZ's initial report when contacted by Fox News.
Early last year, rumors ran rampant that Van Halen's classic line-up was reuniting for the first time since 1984. It was not clear why the tour had finally canceled despite online conversations that revealed Eddie Van Halen's health had deteriorated.
Last November, TMZ reported that Eddie Van Halen spent several days in hospital because of complications from his cancer treatment. Sources close to the legendary guitarist told the site that he was hospitalized with intestinal problems and stomach ailments, both as a result of bad reactions to drugs Eddie reportedly used to fight throat cancer.
