England Target Audience Attend At Stadium October 2020
JAKARTA - The return of fans to sporting venues in England is moving one step closer.
Last Friday, British prime minister Boris Johnson announced plans to return spectators to the stadium as soon as October.
But before that, next August, there will be a number of trial events to ensure the health and safety of spectators attending sporting events.
These trial events will be held for sports such as cricket, snooker and horse racing, with a view to allowing more fans to attend events starting October - including football.
"We welcome the government's positive update today which means we and our football partners can step up our efforts to get fans back to the stadium as soon as possible," the English Football Association (FA) said in a statement. Launching MARCA, Monday.
"We will continue to work with the relevant authorities on how we can bring them back in a safe and protected manner, including any assistance we can provide to proposed pilot events.
"This work will go hand in hand with the return of grassroots football, our planning for or the resumption of international men's and women's matches and the return of Barclays FA WSL women's football and the Women's FA Cup."
