Thamrin-Monas MRT Station Construction Reaches 21.3 Percent

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta BUMD, PT MRT Jakarta announced that the progress of the construction of Thamrin and Monas Stations until September 25, 2021 has reached 21.3 percent.

MRT Jakarta President Director William P Sabandar explained that one of the construction stages carried out at the two underground stations was the construction of a retaining wall or "D-wall".

The Thamrin and Monas MRT stations are included in the project contract (CP) 201 for the construction of phase 2A.

Quoted by Antara, William detailed that at Monas Station a station column (kingpost) was also built, then rebar or iron was installed, preparation for casting roof slabs at the Monas Blok box station and excavation of the fourth layer substation.

Meanwhile at Thamrin Station, he continued, the stage is the "D-wall" work in the TBM area or the launch site for underground drilling machines on the south and north sides of the tunnel.

In addition, "traffic deck" work in the south tunnel and wall work for preparation of drilling machine launches in the northern area of Bundaran HI.

Meanwhile, for the project contract (CP) 203, namely Mangga Besar-Kota for physical work, it only reached 0.29 percent as of September 25, 2021.

The works for CP203 include traffic engineering on Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan Hayam Wuruk and Jalan Pintu Besar Selatan.

Then the installation of project fences, utility relocation work, to the preparation of planting replacement trees around the project area.

MRT Jakarta said the Phase II construction project was planned to span 11.8 kilometers from the HI Roundabout to West Ancol.

Phase II is divided into two, namely Phase IIA which consists of seven underground stations namely Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok and Kota with a total length of about 5.8 kilometers.

Meanwhile, Phase IIB, which is currently in the feasibility study stage, consists of two underground stations namely Mangga Dua and Ancol and one depot in West Ancol with a total length of about six kilometers.

William added that the investment value for the MRT Jakarta Phase II is estimated at around Rp. 22.5 trillion, while the investment value for the Phase I project of the HI-Lebak Bulus roundabout which is about 16 kilometers long, which has been operating in 2019, has reached Rp. 16 trillion.
