Husband Who Splashed Pertalite Burns Pregnant Wife In Probolinggo Arrested, Suspected Of Infidelity

PROBOLINGGO - Police arrested Adi Susanto (34) for dousing gasoline and setting fire to his wife Siti Maimuna, in Krajan Hamlet, Tongas District, Probolinggo, East Java. Even though his wife was pregnant.

Probolinggo City Police Chief AKBP RM Jauhari said the action was allegedly due to jealousy. The perpetrator suspects his wife is cheating on him with another man.

This case began when the victim said goodbye to check her womb with the midwife in her village on Wednesday 29 September.

But by the perpetrators are not allowed, on the grounds that the perpetrators want to deliver.

But the perpetrator at that time wanted to deliver the sand first to a neighboring village.

After delivering the sand, at around 17.00 WIB, the perpetrator did not find the victim at his house.

"Because there was none, the perpetrator looked for the victim in his friends, and also at his father-in-law's house," said AKBP RM Jauhari.

However, her father-in-law said that the victim had come but had gone home with the excuse of taking clothes.

Because they did not find the victim, the perpetrator immediately returned to his house. When he returned home, the perpetrator met the victim, who was about to return to Pasuruan and brought his clothes and his 13-year-old son.

"Knowing this, the perpetrator bought metallic acid and chased the victim until he arrived at the location. After that, the victim was stopped and was involved in an argument at the time," continued AKBP RM Jauhari.

As a result of the altercation, the perpetrator became emotional and poured pertalite on the victim's motorbike and clothes, and set fire to it with a gas lighter taken from his pants. But at that time his wife and child were also burned.

"The perpetrator was immediately secured by residents, then handed over to police officers. While the victim was rushed to the Grati hospital," he said.

For his actions, the perpetrator was charged with Article 44 paragraph 2 of 2004 concerning Domestic Violence/or Article 80 of the Law on Child Protection.
