NTT Prosecutor's Office Seizes Evidence Of Rp17.3 Billion Of Corruption Money, This Is What The Pile Of Money Looks Like
KUPANG - Kupang Regent Korinus Masneno appreciated the NTT High Prosecutor's Office for saving state losses in the case of alleged corruption in the cooperation agreement for the use of assets belonging to the Kupang Regency Government from PT Nusa Investasi Mandiri worth Rp17.3 billion.
"The government and the people of Kupang Regency appreciate the efforts of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office which saved the state losses in the case of renting Kupang Regency Government assets which were of very large value," he said at the NTT High Prosecutor's office, quoted by Antara, Thursday, September 30.
Korinus Masneno conveyed this at a press conference regarding the confiscation of evidence in the form of funds amounting to Rp. 17.3 billion in the alleged corruption case of the cooperation agreement for the use of assets belonging to the Kupang Regency Government with PT Nusa Investasi Mandiri.
According to him, the success of recovering state losses can only be done by people who have a heart for the interests of the people so that state losses according to the results of the calculations carried out by the Prosecutor's Office can be obtained by the Kupang Regency Government.
Korinus admitted that he did not expect to receive funds of Rp. 17.3 billion in difficult conditions due to the COVID-19 pandemic which has drained a lot of regional budgets for handling COVID-19.
"We never imagined that we would be able to get such a large amount of funds so that this is a great memory for the Kupang Regency Government. This event is a long history for Kupang Regency," he said.
He said the Kupang Regency Government will immediately coordinate with the Kupang Regency DPRD to get the council's approval so that the Rp17.3 billion fund will be used as shares of the Kupang Regency Government in Bank NTT.
Korinus hopes that the policy of the Kupang Regency Government to use the funds as additional shares in Bank NTT will serve as an example for the regional generation to continue prioritizing the economic development of the community at all costs rather than spending the budget for other purposes.
"Initially we did not have any expectations from this asset incident. We did not expect to receive funds of this size, in our minds all this time we only thought who would go to prison in this matter," he said accompanied by the Head of the NTT High Prosecutor's Office, Yulianto.
