Take A Look, 3 Elementary School Classrooms In Asahan, North Sumatra, Almost Collapsed Into The Abyss Because The Land Collapsed
MEDAN - The condition of the State Elementary School (SDN) 018476 is not in Hamlet 3, Goting Sidodadi Village, Bandar Pasir Mandoge District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra. Because, 3 classrooms are located on the ground that almost landslides.
The Head of Bandar Pasir Mandoge Sub-district, Muliadong, said that this condition had occurred since 2017 and had been discussed in the Musrenbang. However, he admits that it takes time to coordinate with several related parties.
"I've only been in office for one month. But from the information I know, this condition has been around since 2017. At first, it was small," Muliadong explained when contacted, Thursday, September 30.
In addition, he said, the location had been reviewed in recent days by the BPBD of Asahan Regency. As a precaution, currently the three classrooms at the school are no longer in use.
"The steps taken, we recommend the school to build a fence so that the children don't play in the landslide area," he explained.
Not only in the school area, several points in the Bandar Pasir Mandoge area, said Muliading, are prone to landslides. The community was asked to be patient regarding the resolution of the problem.
"Now the budget is being refocused on handling COVID-19 and it is not proposed and discussed. It does take time to complete. It must be submitted, it must be approved by the DPRD again and others," he said.
Even though the landslide had touched the foundation of the school building, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of the school's students to learn.
Meanwhile, the teacher of SD Negeri 018476, Sabaria Tanjung, said that currently his party has installed a wire fence. In addition, they also posted warnings to their students not to approach the landslide location, which is estimated to be 10 to 12 meters deep.
"Warnings and restrictions on thorn fences were installed to anticipate children from approaching the landslide location," he explained.
The emergence of the landslide began when there was irrigation from the residents who flowed to the side of the school. So that the cliff behind the school was eroded by water.
"We hope that the government will immediately repair it, at least stock it up. So that we don't worry about the safety of these students," Muliading said.
