Invite DJs To Hold Music Performances And Ignore Prokes, Preston Coffee In Malang Threatened With A Fine Of IDR 50 Million
MALANG - Preston Coffee in Malang City, East Java was imposed with a minor criminal sanction (tipiring) following a violation during the implementation of PPKM. This cafe is known to trigger crowds of visitors.
The Head of Peace and Order of the Malang City Satpol PP Rahmat Hidayat said his party had conducted a quick check on the Preston Coffee manager before imposing sanctions.
"We will impose a light criminal sanction, or tipiring. With a maximum penalty of three months, or a maximum fine of Rp. 50 million. That will be the judge who will decide," said Rahmat in Malang City, East Java, Antara, Thursday, September 30.
Rahmat explained, the plan to conduct a trial for minor crimes due to violating the provisions during the PPKM period was carried out on October 27, 2021. If there is a change in time, his party will immediately provide information.
He added that Preston Coffee had also admitted to violating the rules during the PPKM level 3. At least, there were three violations, namely crowds, visitors not wearing masks, and organizing music performances.
"So there are three recognized violations. The suspect admits and also apologizes, he will not repeat the offense," he said.
The sanctions are given in accordance with Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2020, and Malang Mayor Regulation Number 30 of 2020, concerning the Implementation of Discipline, and Enforcement of Health Protocols.
Previously on social media, a video circulated showing a musical activity in the room attended by hundreds of people. In the video, you can see a crowd of visitors watching music from a disc jockey (DJ).
The cafe that organized the event was located on Jalan Soekarno Hatta Barat, Mojolangu Village, Lowokwaru District, Malang City. The cafe hosts live music every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, the manager of Preston Coffee Aldino said that the musical performance was claimed to have carried out a number of restrictions, and implemented health protocols, such as limiting the number of visitors, to 50 percent of the maximum capacity of 1,500 people.
"For capacity, for example there is no PPKM, it could be up to 1,500 people. Yesterday, there was a limit of around 50 percent," he said.
He also stated that visitors had been asked to wash their hands, have their temperature checked, provide hand sanitizer, and wear masks. The musical performances were carried out from 18.00 to 20.00 WIB.
Currently in the Malang City area, PPKM level 3 is being implemented with a number of new adjustments. For cafes, and places to eat, are allowed to operate, and visitors are allowed to eat on the premises, with a number of conditions.
For restaurants and cafes inside the building, they are allowed to operate until 21.00 WIB, with a maximum capacity of 50 percent, one table for a maximum of two people, with a distance of 1.5 meters each, and must use the PeduliLindung application.
