Anies Baswedan's Story About His Grandfather And Sabam Sirait Who Were Friends For Decades

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan expressed his condolences with the passing of the founder of PDIP, Sabam Gunung Panangian Sirait. Anies said, Sabam and his grandfather had a strong relationship.

"We express our condolences for the death of Pak Sabam Sirait. I personally have very high respect for Pak Sabam," said Anies at the funeral home, Thursday, September 30.

Anies also said that the figure of Sabam is quite close to his family. Because, the deceased is a friend with his grandfather since decades ago.

"Incidentally, Pak Sabam and I have our own stories. My grandfather and Pak Sabam were friends from the 70's, 80's and are very grateful that at the end of his life," he said.

On the other hand, Anies also said that Sabam was a role model for activists. Because, during his life always fight for the interests of society.

"He is an activist who is not young, throughout his career, his life has been for the struggle for the community, he is active in various organizations and until his senior year he still thinks about and fights for the community," said Anies.

"Finally, he is the most senior member of the DKI Jakarta DPD and it shows an extraordinary fighting spirit, an exemplary high spirit, always working hard and maintaining a relationship with anyone," continued Anies.

At the end of his statement, Anies also hoped that the bereaved family would be given patience. Don't forget to be reminded to always maintain the good name of Sabam Sirait.

"He continues to be listed as a useful person, hopefully the family will be given the strength of fortitude and at the same time continue to maintain the great name of the late Sabam Sirait," he said.

Sabam Sirait is now listed as a member of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD). He died of chronic lung disease and had been hospitalized for two months at Siloam Karawaci Hospital.
