JAKARTA - DPP PDIP mourns the death of politician and founder of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Sabam Sirait. Sabam died at the age of 85 on Wednesday, September 29.

In view of the services of Sabam Sirait, who was known as the party's declarator when the party fusion was carried out in 1973 into PDI, said Hasto, the party gave furthermore, Hasto said, Sabam Sirait is a senior politician with a long experience in serving the nation and state. "The deceased in the history of service in the PDI was recorded as Secretary General of the PDI from 1973 to 1986. Pak Sabam Sirait has a very long experience as a member of the DPR RI and also as the Central Advisory Council of the PDI-P in 1998-2008," said Hasto.
For his great services, Hasto said, all PDIP members and cadres give the best respect. And pray for the deceased so that his path will be smoothed and he will get the best place in Heaven.
