Citilink And Garuda Indonesia Fire Pilot Involved In Drug Abuse
JAKARTA - Citilink Indonesia fired a pilot who was proven to have abused drugs. The announcement was made directly by the President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfaniaputra, through a written statement, Saturday night, July 18.
"Based on the results of our investigation and coordination with the police regarding Garuda Indonesia and Citilink pilots involved in narcotics abuse, we can say that the Company has imposed termination of employment (PHK) sanctions on these pilots," said Irfan.
Irfan said that the layoffs sanction was a form of firmness in the company. There is no tolerance for employees who abuse drugs, he said.
Garuda Indonesia as the company that oversees Citilink Indonesia also conducts Drug and Alcohol Management Program (DAMP) for 122 flight crew. The random urine rapid check test for drugs was carried out at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
The random check results showed that all crew members tested were clean from drugs. All these efforts are further steps to ensure safety and security aspects of aviation through the prevention of narcotics and alcohol abuse within the company.
