Gibran Supports Entertainment Activities To Restore Solo's Economy
SOLO - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka supports the implementation of live entertainment activities as an effort to encourage economic recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Solo is focused on economic recovery, events have also started," said Gibran in Solo, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 29.
Regarding the economic recovery in 2021, there are still three months to optimize the various existing sectors.
"Hopefully it can improve, including with us holding the Solo Great Sale. Moreover, from all the tenants who participate, it is dominated by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)," he said.
Regarding the easing of the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM), he said, he was still waiting for the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs first.
"Wait for instructions from the center. If it is allowed (events to be held directly) of course we are very happy, our events can run again," he said.
Moreover, he said, in the near future the Surakarta City Government will hold a Solo Putra and Putri celebration. Regarding its readiness, it is currently starting to conduct coordination meetings.
"What is certain is that we will resurrect the event. So far, performances have actually existed, but online, without spectators, it's a pity," he said.
Meanwhile, related to the development of COVID-19 cases in the City of Solo, he said, it was in a better condition compared to the previous months.
Based on data from the Surakarta City COVID-19 Handling Task Force, the current vaccination achievement in Solo has reached 117 percent. Meanwhile, the latest addition to the number of new cases of COVID-19 only increased by one case.
Thus, the number of active cases in Solo to date is 67 people, namely 59 people undergoing isolation and eight others being treated in hospital.
