Over 90 Million Members Of The Chinese Communist Party Threatened Not To Enter The US

Jakarta - The administration of the President of the United States (US) Donald Trump is considering a ban on members of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and their families from entering the US. More than 90 million Chinese citizens are threatened with being unable to go to the country.

When first discussed, according to Reuters, the idea of refusing visas for more than 90 million Chinese citizens would be one of the toughest US decisions. Some say that the actions of the US and China are a new era of Cold War.

If this idea were to be implemented, it is possible to hit the CCP from the highest level to the very bottom. This policy is also not impossible to receive a similar response from China by prohibiting US citizens from entering the bamboo curtain country. Including diplomats, business executives who could harm US interests in China.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying said if that happened, it would mean the United States voted against 1.4 billion people. "This goes against the trend of the 21st century, and this is very absurd," he said.

To date, no US official has clarified the idea. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo declined to even comment. "We are working on a way, under the guidance of the president, on how to fight the Chinese Communist Party," Pompeo said.

Relations between the two nations with the world's largest economy have slumped to their lowest point in decades. The US and China often clash over the handling of COVID-19.

In addition, the competition between the two countries returned to fierce when China implemented the National Security Act against Hong Kong. Not to mention the US-China debate over the South China Sea, trade, and the alleged crimes of Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang.

US officials in various agencies were involved in the process of formulating the policy. They are also reportedly considering banning children of Communist Party members from studying at US universities.

But the problem of determining which Chinese citizens are party members and non-party members is not an easy matter. This is because the US authorities do not have a complete list of CCP members.
