The 55-year-old has previously starred in Hollywood hits such as The Hangover and Ip Man 3, and made his guest acting debut on the TV show Webster in 1987.
Producer Karan Johar announced the news in a tweet on Monday.
“For the first time, the king of the ring will be seen on the big screen of Indian cinema. Welcome Mike Tyson to the Liger team!” wrote Johar.

After returning to the ring with an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. late last year, Tyson opened up about wanting to appear in a similar show against Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis.
"I want Holyfield and I want Lennox Lewis this year," Tyson said on his Hotboxin podcast in April.
But in fact, Holyfield actually returned to the ring by fighting former UFC star, Vitor Belfast with a defeat. Holyfield replaces Oscar De La Hoya who was exposed to COVID-19.
The Tyson vs Holyfield fight plan just disappeared. However, The Real Deal - Holyfield's nickname - promised to return to the ring as soon as possible.
