A Total Of 37 Papuan Endemic Birds Released In The Forest Area Of TNI AL Sorong Fleet III Command Headquarters

JAKARTA - A total of 37 endemic Papuan birds including the chef's cockatoo, mambruk, parrot parrot, and black-headed musk were released in the forest at the TNI Navy's III Fleet Command Headquarters in Sorong Regency, West Papua Province. The task of the Director of Conservation Area Planning at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Toto Indraswanto said that the released birds included 30 chef's parrots (Cacatua Galerita). In addition, according to him, there were three mambruk birds (Goura cristata), two parrot parrots (Eclectus roratus), and two black head musk (Lorius lory).

He explained that the birds were confiscated by technical implementing units of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Java and Manado, as well as the results of animal protection patrols in Sorong City and District. which was organized by the West Papua Natural Resources Conservation Center together with the Indonesian Navy's III Fleet Command and Conservation International (CI) Indonesia.
