Action Tom Cruise Flying Fighter Plane In Top Gun: Maverick

JAKARTA - The latest trailer for Top Gun: Maverick has been released on Paramount Pictures YouTube channel. In the latest footage, it shows Tom Cruise as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell maneuvering his fighter plane.

Top Gun: Maverick's story, will show how the 57-year-old actor becomes a flight instructor and is tasked with training young aspiring pilots. This film is a sequel to the Top Gun story which first aired in 1986.

The video description of the trailer reads "Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of the past, Maverick is carried away by his terrified confrontation, culminating in a mission that demands great sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly him."

In the sequel to Top Gun, there are a number of new characters ready to be introduced. One of them is the son of Nick 'Goose' Bradshaw, played by Miles Teller as Bradley Bradshaw. In addition, there are also Glen Powell and Monica Barbaro who act as pilot trainees at the Top Gun academy.

"What He taught you can mean the difference between life and death." one of the narratives plays in the two-minute video.

A sequel to Top Gun has been planned since 2010. Paramount Pictures had offered Jerry Bruckheimer and Tony Scott to work on this film. But unfortunately, Tony Scott had to die before this film was worked on.

This also made Bruckheimer as a producer committed to continuing the Top Gun sequel which Cruise and Kilmer agreed with. The film began filming on May 30, 2018 in San Diego, California.

The first trailer for Top Gun: Maverick was released for the first time to the public through the San Diego Comic Con event on July 18, 2019. This sequel is planned to be released simultaneously on June 26, 2020.
