Residents Of Bojong Koneng Village, Bogor Report To Komnas HAM About Threats And Violence In Sentul City Land Dispute

JAKARTA - As many as 20 people acting on behalf of residents of Bojong Koneng Village, Bogor Regency visited the National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM), on Jalan Latuharhari, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Their arrival was none other than to report cases of human rights violations in Bojong Koneng Village, Bogor Regency, West Java, which were allegedly carried out by corporations in forcibly taking land that had been occupied by residents for years.

“Yes, we are here to report and ask for protection from Komnas HAM. There are 20 representatives from Bojong Koneng Village who feel that their rights have been taken away.” said the attorney for the resident of Bojong Koneng, Alghiffari Aqsa when met at Komnas HAM, in Latuharhari, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 28.

Aqsa also said that the residents received violence and threats from elements who were trying to take over land in Bojong Koneng Village.

“Human rights violations committed against corporations that carry out threats. There was violence in Bojong Koneng against residents who owned land there, or who had occupied it for a long time. Second, there is land grabbing, taking people's land." explained Aqsa.
