As A Bench Warmer, Juan Mata Is Ready To Leave Old Trafford

JAKARTA - Juan Mata is reportedly considering leaving Manchester United in the next winter transfer window, the Manchester Evening News reported on Tuesday.

Mata started when United lost to West Ham United in the League Cup last week but was substituted in the 62nd minute.

Mata was then not included in the United squad in the 0-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the English Premier League at Old Trafford, Saturday, September 25 evening WIB.

The Spanish midfielder has yet to appear for Manchester United in the English league for the 2021/22 season.

Mata's contract expires in June 2022, and he will turn 34 in April next year.

Mata is open to a move in January as he wants to find more playing opportunities.

Mata will be free to carry out pre-contract negotiations with overseas clubs or leave United for free.

Mata has so far made 274 appearances for the Red Devils in various competitions, scoring 51 goals.

Prior to joining the Red Devils in January 2014, Mata had played for Chelsea and Valencia.

With Chelsea, Mata had played for two and a half seasons, appearing 135 times and contributing 33 goals.

While with Valencia, Mata played for four seasons from 2007 to 2011, making 174 appearances and scoring 46 goals.
