In Thanksgiving, Breeders In Blitar, East Java, Distribute 1.5 Tons Of Eggs And 100 Chickens To Residents
BLITAR - Breeders in Blitar Regency, East Java (East Java) plan to distribute live chickens and eggs for free to residents. This is a form of gratitude and an act of sympathy to encourage the existence of a Presidential Regulation to protect small farmers.
"There are around 1.5 tons of eggs and about 100 chickens. These will be distributed to residents," said event coordinator Yesi Yuni Astuti when contacted by Antara, Monday, September 27.
The action will take place on Tuesday, September 28 tomorrow. The distribution points include the Bung Karno statue in front of the Blitar Regency Government Office, along the road between the Blitar Regency Government Office to the Blitar Regency DPRD location, along the road in Udanawu District to the Regency Government Office, and several intersection points.
According to him, the action activities are packaged by distributing live chicken eggs for free, as well as a bazaar for selling eggs. The selling price of eggs is also in accordance with the recommendations from the Ministry of Trade.
He and other breeders in Blitar Regency also appreciated the policy of the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi who would take a number of steps in an effort to improve the price of chicken eggs which was falling.
One of the efforts that will be made is to absorb the eggs of farmers to be used in social assistance packages (bansos), especially those given to people affected by COVID-19.
The actions of the breeders, he said, did not focus on the cheap price of eggs, but on the cultivation of chickens by integrators or large companies. If left unchecked, it can make it difficult for small-scale chicken farmers.
"We don't want price increases but price stability. If the price goes up for at least three days, then it goes down for two weeks, then it goes up again. We also hope that the integrators will stop, cultivation will return to the people. Now, smallholder farmers have to deal with integrators whose money is not good. like an open fighting chick with an eagle, that's why the referee needs to be able to regulate, balance and harmonization occurs," he said.
Currently, a number of residents have helped pack chicken eggs which will be distributed free of charge to these residents.
With this action, it is hoped that it will continue to spur the enthusiasm of farmers, especially small farmers to keep fighting in their business as well as the existence that Blitar Regency is a chicken egg producing area.
