Even Though The Deputy Chairperson Did Not Approve, The Chairperson Of The DPRD Strictly Conducted A Formula E Interpellation Plenary
JAKARTA - The plan to hold a plenary meeting to determine the interpellation of Formula E of the DKI DPRD tomorrow is controversial. The invitation to the plenary meeting made by the Secretariat of the DKI DPRD is only signed by the Chairperson of the DKI DPRD.
Meanwhile, the invitation letter at the official DPRD meeting must also obtain the initial approval of the Deputy Chairperson of the DKI DPRD. Unfortunately, the four Deputy Speakers of the DPRD refused to initialize the invitation to the interpellation plenary meeting schedule.
The secretary of the DKI DPRD, Augustinus, said that he was only a facilitator for DPRD members. He has also reported to the Chairman of the DKI DPRD, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, regarding his deputy's reluctance to initialize the plenary schedule.
"I've already conveyed it to Mr. Petua. I said, 'Mr. Chairman, this is not initialed by any of the representatives, it is not acceptable to initialize'," Augustinus said when contacted, Monday, September 27.
However, said Augustinus, Prasetyo was determined to start the plenary meeting to determine the interpellation tomorrow, even without the approval of his representatives.
"The chairman still signed and said he would continue to exercise this right of interpellation, because this right of interpellation is one of the council's rights as well. Then this is just asking for policies related to Formula E. The chairman said that to me," explained Augustinus.
Previously, seven factions of the DKI DPRD expressed their refusal to attend the plenary meeting to determine the interpellation of Formula E which is planned to be held on Tuesday, September 28 tomorrow.
Deputy Chairman of the DKI DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Mohamad Taufik, emphasized that the seven factions would not attend the plenary meeting because the agenda was considered illegal.
"Seven factions and four deputy chairmen of the DKI DPRD stated that the plenary meeting held on Tuesday, September 28 was not appropriate to attend because it was an illegal act," said Taufik.
The plenary meeting that will be held tomorrow is to determine whether the DPRD will conduct an interpellation or not. Interpellation is regulated in DKI Jakarta DPRD Regulation Number 1 of 2020, specifically in Chapter VIII concerning the Implementation of the Rights of DPRD and Members of DKI DPRD.
Article 120 explains that the right of interpellation is the right of the DPRD to request information from the governor regarding regional government policies that are important and strategic and have a broad impact on the life of society and the state.
