Kirana expressed his appreciation for the efforts of health workers and volunteers involved in handling COVID-19 in the country. According to data in the January-September 2021 period, there were more of the 7,000 volunteers recruited by the Ministry of Health. With the current downward trend in cases, after a spike in the previous few months, there are around 4,300 volunteers who are still active in handling COVID-19. This number is volunteers under the Ministry of Health and does not include those recruited directly by health care facilities.
