After Losing To Usyk, What Is The Fate Of Anthony Joshua?
JAKARTA - Anthony Joshua's defeat at the hands of Oleksandr Usyk not only cost him the world title, but also his hopes of fighting Tyson Fury.
There has been a lot of talk in recent years about a possible Fury-Joshua fight.
But, after Joshua gave up his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles in unanimous defeat, the much-desired contest seemed unlikely.
With only his own belt at stake, MARCA said, Fury is expected to lose interest in facing Joshua.
The two Brits have dominated the division several times, but after Joshua's loss, the battle map has drastically changed and fans may not get the battle of their dreams.
However, the division could continue to shake when Fury faces American fighter Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas on October 9.
The fight will be the third in their trilogy of encounters. Previously, in 2018 they drew and then Fury won in 2020 to snatch the WBC belt.
The question now is, where is Joshua after this defeat?
