One Person Dies In Clash Of Two CSOs In Cianjur, Dozens Of Sajams Arrested

CIANJUR - Cianjur Police, West Java, secured evidence of sharp weapons used by dozens of members of two mass organizations involved in a brawl on the Cianjur-Sukabumi border, in Gekbrong District, which left one person dead.

Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Doni Hermawan said the clash between the BPPKB mass organization and Pemuda Pancasila was the aftermath of the previous clash in Sumedang.

"The clashes caused members of the PP Ormas to die with grievous injuries. While the BPPKB Ormas headquarters were damaged by mobs and burned, we secured dozens of sharp weapons, motor vehicles and other evidence," Doni said in Cianjur, reported by Antara, Sunday, September 26.

Until now, his party has asked for information from a number of eyewitnesses who had seen the clashes between the two mass organizations, which led to the destruction. His party is also investigating the actor behind the attack and immediately arresting the perpetrator who caused the victim to die.

"We will investigate and immediately arrest the perpetrators who caused the death toll. The witnesses have been questioned and currently the headquarters of the mass organizations that were damaged have been installed with police lines, to facilitate the investigation," he said. The previous year, the same mass organization had clashed with other mass organizations in Sukabumi. Even hundreds of officers from the two Sukabumi and Cianjur police stations, assisted by the Brimob Unit, were deployed because they both mobilized the masses.

"The legal process is still ongoing, we will pursue the perpetrators. For now, the situation at the scene is conducive, but we ask officers to increase patrols," said Doni.
