JCI Thursday Parked In The Green Zone, Gaining 0.45 Percent To 5,098.37
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed higher on trading Thursday, July 16. JCI closed up 0.45 percent or 22.58 points to the level of 5,098.37.
Closing the trade, 187 stocks rose, 216 stocks fell, and 176 stocks were stagnant. The trading volume was recorded at 8.84 billion shares and was transacted for IDR 6.87 trillion.
Several reference indexes were also recorded to have strengthened this afternoon. LQ45 rose 0.49 percent, the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) strengthened 0.41 percent, and IDX30 gained 0.58 percent.
Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama, said that the market really appreciates Bank Indonesia (BI) for cutting the benchmark interest rate by 25 bps in order to support the government in implementing the national economic recovery program.
"On the other hand, globally, the market appreciates the development of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is getting more positive from time to time," Nafan told VOI.
This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM) which rose 34.38 percent to Rp258, PT Ginting Jaya Energi Tbk (WOWS) which rose 22.22 percent to Rp77, and PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk (TCPI) which strengthened 10.88 percent to Rp3,770.
While stocks that are in the top losers ranks, including PT Envy Technologies Indonesia Tbk (ENVY) which weakened 6.92 percent to Rp121, PT Bekasi Fajar Industrial Estate Tbk (BEST) which fell 6.77 percent to Rp124, and PT Putra Rajawali Kencanan Tbk (PURA) which weakened 3.28 percent to Rp118.
