Losing One Player, Dortmund Must Admit Defeat To Moenchengladbach

JAKARAT - Borussia Moenchengladbach picked up the three points after overcoming Borussia Dortmund 1-0 after the visitors were forced to finish the match with only ten players in the matchday six of the German League at Borussia Park Stadium, Saturday local time (Sunday WIB). Denis Zakaria in the 37th minute as the Swiss midfielder ended a corner with a shot from the middle of the box. Three minutes later, Dortmund suffered a heavy loss as Mahmoud Dahoud was shown a second yellow card after bringing down Joe Scally so that the visitors were forced to continue with only ten players. The 11 vs 10 situation made Gladbach quite free to control the game, unfortunately some of their experiments through Jonas Hofmann, Zakaria, Breel Embolo and Kouadio Kone still failed to add to their advantage.

On the other hand, Dortmund, who have lost Erling Haaland due to a minor injury and Marco Rose did not want to take the risk, could hardly do much more than have to finish the match in a limp state. While Dortmund failed to add to the collection of 12 points they have and are stuck in fourth place after being overtaken by Bayer Leverkusen a few hours earlier, the German League's official website notes. The two teams are scheduled to play again next Saturday when Dortmund host FC Augsburg at Signal Iduna Park and Gladbach travel to the Volkswagen Arena to face VfL Wolfsburg. Before that, Dortmund will first play the Champions League group stage continuation by hosting Portuguese champions Sporting CP on Tuesday.
